Discover the city’s fascinating 2000-year history and its rich culture with this fun walking tour from Newcastle City Guides.

Starting at Central Arcade near Grey’s Monument, you’ll weave your way down to the banks of the River Tyne and its many bridges – seeing amazing architecture and monuments, learning about the influence and legacy of the city’s industrialists and hearing short stories and amusing tales along the way!

This tour is free, but tickets must be reserved.

Information

Please meet your tour guide at Central Arcade near Grey’s Monument. The tour starts at 10:30am and lasts approximately 90 minutes.


Please note that this walk includes a steep downward slope to the Quayside, so guests with wheelchairs or limited mobility may prefer to finish the tour at Newcastle Castle. Please discuss this with the guide before the tour starts.
